Jake Goforth is a 17-year-old powerhouse Bluegrass flat picker and baritone singer from Troy, NC. He has performed with such music notables as Dan Tyminski, Rhonda Vincent, the Gibson Brothers, and Sideline. “The future of Bluegrass music is in great hands!” stressed Rhonda Vincent on this teenagers’ abilities. The style of music he and his young band will bring to Bluegrass in Boydton will delight you!


Shannon Baker & Sometime Soon

Based out of eastern NC, this four piece group is built around the amazing vocals of Shannon Baker. Well delivered harmonies and tasteful instrumentation create a uniquely refreshing combination. While Bluegrass is central in their sets, Country, Americana and Folk selections are often included.


Starlett and Big John
3-4pm | 8-9pm

Turnberry Recording Artists, Starlett & Big John are singer-song writers that are reminiscent of the traditional bluegrass duets of days gone by but with a modern flair. The true bluegrass duets were the backbone of the bluegrass repertoire and Starlett & Big John have resurrected just that sound. They have mixed their original songs with a few traditional heartfelt favorite duets and you will be astounded at their soul-piercing performance.
