Mecklenburg County is a unique tourist destination, offering two lakes with over 800 miles of shoreline, 17 boat landings, 5 campgrounds, 5 wineries, a brewery, distillery, unique theaters, historic sites and miles of trails.

Founded in 2019, this annual show falls on the 4th Saturday in June and features some of the top bluegrass musicians from near and far.

Each event features 3 bands, food by the Boydton Volunteer Fire Dept, a beer garden, wine garden, and a selective number of artisans selling their unique products and wares. Musicians come from near and far to jam on the courthouse lawn before the shows begin.

Bring your lawn chairs, but leave your coolers at home. Admission is $20 and tickets are sold at the gate only. Kids 12 and under are free!

The Historic Boyd Tavern - The Boyd Tavern, formerly known as Boyd’s Tavern, Exchange Hotel, and Boydton Hotel, is a historic inn and tavern located in the Historic District of the town of Boydton in Mecklenburg County, Virginia. It is a rambling, two-story structure built in at least three stages throughout history. The front facade features a full-length two-story porch with sawn-work decoration.

Created as an “ordinary” to provide overnight accommodations near the county courthouse, the Boyd Tavern has been a prominent landmark and a treasure of architectural and historic significance for more than two hundred years. The original tavern was constructed in 1785, and was licensed as an ordinary to Richard Swepson, Jr. It contained the 1770 county courthouse, jail, stock, and tavern.

Today, the Boyd Tavern is open for tours and is available for rent as an event space. For more information, visit their website at www.boydtavern.net.
